It’ been a good two months since I started writing on my web space and I have to admit that I have absolutely loved every bit of it. I have been (and still am) very skeptical about my writing skills and my ability to pick topics to write on. Given that I have always had an opinion about everything that goes on around me (capital punishments / public display of affection / arranged marriages et all) and the fact that I have always been very passionate about the things that I believe in, it is rather surprising that I hadn’t started writing earlier. Anyhoo, I am just glad that I started writing and hope to do so for a while. I keep thinking that me having my own web space is akin to a chimpanzee having its clarinet- The chimp loves it but its total nuisance to everyone around. (Tough luck boys, you have to put up with my dross for a while!).
I have never been able to make up my mind if I am writing to gratify a fetish of expressing my opinion on a subject matter or getting a perspective from the select few who actually read my blog and whose opinion actually matter to me. I think it’s a combination of both. My friend P is of the strong opinion that he writes only because he enjoys it and doesn’t really care what other think. While I disagree respectfully I am glad I am getting a different opinion even on simple things like these.
A couple of interesting things about my blog:
I was curious about the visits to my blog and decided to look up the stats last week. I was astonished to see that the numbers had spiked significantly last week. (I am not going to reveal the numbers to save myself some embarrassment). I was thinking to myself that maybe my writing was as bad as I thought and I should start giving myself a little bit of credit. After all I had come up with a blog about which most people tended to agree with me (Reservations) and another on some reasonable funny incidents that happened around me (10 things that have made me laugh/smile recently). So I decided to look up for the key words that brought people to my blog and to my shock horror found out that 2 out of the top three search words something I never imagined :
1) Shriya+Sex+Video
2) OBC Resrvations
3) Shah Rukh Khan+Sex
Oh sweet lord! Anyone who is trying to get more hits to the blogsite???? You guys know what needs to be done. Just stick a couple of soft porn videos on your website and hits galore. Further which crazy rat basta#d was looking for SRK’s porn???
Not able to withstand the humongous pressure that my beloved patti has been subjecting me to get married, my mom and dad being the dutiful parents that they are took my horoscope to the family astrologer. Following are the salient points of their discussion:
Ø He reckons that I won’t get married until the year 2010.
Ø He reckons that mine would be an arranged marriage much to the delight of my patti
Ø He reckons that I might pursue higher education
I have a strong feeling that this gentleman has made all his predictions based on my 2 blogs:
Could there beeee a better bing? – I rather embarrassingly admitted that I am pathetic with women.
To M (Be) A or not M (Be) A – Wherein I expressed my desire to pursue higher education
It’s good to know that my blog is being read by masses far and wide.

- I love my sport. I can keep watching or discussing football and cricket all day. I work with the sole objective of making enough money to retire when I am 40. I have a sense of humour which has to be my most distinguishing feature. I can laugh at myself and I style myself as the king of self-depreciating humour.

Sharath just believe in yourself, don't think about what the astrologer had to say. In my opinion its best to be ignorant about such things and let things flow...am sure you'll find someone nice for yourself. You just need to be confident.

I love reading blogs, moreso of ppl I know. In a dialogue listening before talking is not often done, but on blogs, reading before commenting is, and that makes a helluva lot of difference.
As for your comment on the prev post, bloody hell, i dont want to wait that long!!!!

Sorry for not being around for ur last 2 blogs on time. I was rather congratulating myself with a holiday!! (Don't ask me wat i did to deserve teh congratulations cos the answer is a big zilch if there is one!!) And was thinking abt ur considerable delay from ur previous blog!!! :P :P (I still dont have an answer to that!! So could there be a better bing??? Maybe, u never know!!)
The biggest success is putting urself down at times only coz the world then doesn;t have an option to!! Like the chimpanzee comparison!! :P :P I'm saying this albeit with the fear of inflating ur ego, i do like reading ur posts! The minute i get a mail that has the subject "Blog" i do drop most work am doing and go read it! (Thgh commenting takes considerable time and thought)
So all i can say is keep writing!! Nice to know a refreshing PoV on most things.. And pls prove ur patti wrong!! (Ru really in for an arranged marriage?? in the sense that can u live with someone u hardly know??)
